Industry Session

Tuesday 16 June 2021

We hope that this session will be a useful networking experience for all of the companies involved and also be of interest to academics at all stages who are interested in the process of commercialising their research.
The industry session has always been an important aspect of Photonics Ireland and provides a platform for interaction between academia and Industry in the photonics space. This year the session will be opened by AnnaMarie Tully from Enterprise Ireland who will give some overview and perspective from EI on their role in developing commercialisation activities in Ireland. We are then hosting a range of talks from medium and large scale established companies including Seagate, ASML, Ficontec and Siemens, followed by short pitch style presentations from a dynamic mix of start-ups at different stages of the journey. The session will end with a discussion on the process, opportunities, and potential pitfalls of spinning out a company from academia in the photonics space.
